CAPIC Emergency Assistance Program

Emergency Assistance Program

CAPIC’s Emergency Assistance Program works to identify and distribute available funding in the form of critical services to at-risk families in emergency situations who are in need of immediate financial relief. This is accomplished through on-going partnerships with Project Bread, Stop and Shop, Lend-A-Hand, the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, Anton Cleaner’s Coats for Kids Program, and active participation on the Chelsea Hunger Network.

What Services Are provided?

Services include: food vouchers, referrals to local food pantries and the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, assistance with Food Stamps, housing and rental/utility assistance, distribution of donated clothing, winter coats, and house ware goods, and basic housing search assistance. Specifically, CAPIC provides emergency housing assistance to clients and utilizes United Way Emergency Food and Shelter Rental/Mortgage Assistance funds to assist families to sustain and/or obtain permanent housing and avert shelter placement.
